Jocelyn Robert

Jocelyn Robert studied pharmacy, then architecture. Passed to art as one passes to the maquis. He published several records (Stat Live Monitor (Recommended Record), Madness Culture (ReR) The Piano Fuzzy (Obz), The Theory of Nerve Hollow, 20 Moment White Slow, Canned Gods (Ohm edition), it have carry out some recording for some other artist (Noise TTV, Michael Snow, Steve Heimbecker...), he has continued writing, he has made some solo installations here and elsewhere, and with Diane Landry or Emile Morin (Quebec, Montreal, St John'S, Vancouver, Victoria, Monterey...), some performance in Quebec, in United States and in Europe, in some festival, some conferences or on the streets, he has realised some projects radiophonic, ans some sound pieces for theatre and videos. He founded Avatar in 1993, a center of self-managed artists dedicated to audio arts, in Quebec. He currently has the roles of artistic director and president there. Actively implicated in the multidisciplinary center Meduse.

Il a publié des disques (Stat Live Moniteur (Recommended Records), Folie Culture (ReR) Le Piano Flou (Obz), La Théorie des Nerfs Creux, 20 Moments Blancs Lents, Canned Gods (Ohm éditions), il a réalisé des enregistrements pour d'autres artistes (Bruit TTV, Michael Snow, Steve Heimbecker…), il a perpétré des écrits, il a commis des installations ici et ailleurs en solo, avec Diane Landry ou Emile Morin (Québec, Montréal, St. John's, Vancouver, Victoria, Monterey…), des performances au Québec, aux États-Unis et en Europe, dans des festivals, des conférences ou dans la rue, il a réalisé des projets radiophoniques, des trames sonores pour le théâtre et des vidéos.
Il a fondé Avatar en 1993, un centre d'artistes autogéré dédié à l'art audio, à Québec. Il y joue actuellement les rôles de directeur artistique et de président. Activement impliqué dans le centre multidisciplinaire Méduse.
