Robin Minard was born in Montreal in 1953. He studied music composition in Canada and Paris. Since the early 1980's a major part of his work has focused in the area of sound installation art. From 1992 to 1996 he was lecturer on the subject of sound installation at the electroacoustic studio of the Berlin Technical University. Since 1997 he has been a professor for electroacoustic composition and sound design at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt and the Bauhaus University, Weimar where he is also director of the electroacoustic studio SeaM. His works have been presented in major festivals, museums and public spaces worldwide. He has published several articles and books on the subject of sound installation. In 1999 his book Silent Music - Between Sound Art and Acoustic Design was published by the Kehrer Verlag, Heidelberg. more |
